How we count
These are real counts, never padded. A device is one browser on one phone or computer, recognised by a random number in a cookie; we only keep a scrambled version of it, for up to 48 hours.
- Online now
- Devices with the city open during the current minute or the 3 minutes before it. An open city checks in when it starts and every 90 seconds while you can see it.
- Visits today
- Different devices that opened the city since midnight, Nairobi time (EAT).
- Total visits
- Visits today added to every day's visits before it.
- Nairobians
- Characters ever created, including ones later deleted. It never goes down.
- Estate race
- Nairobians from each home estate who did something in the city in the last 7 days. The leader is Estate of the Week; ties go to the estate first in the alphabet.
